Webby Awards Honors Sesh Mobile App

We’re thrilled to share that Sesh, mental healthcare service and Carbon Five client, has been announced as a 2021 Webby Awards honoree. The Sesh mobile app was recognized for excellence in the Apps and Software – Health and Fitness category. 

The Webby Awards is the leading international award honoring excellence on the internet. The Webbys is presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, a 2000+ member judging body. The Academy is composed of executive members—leading internet experts, business figures, luminaries, visionaries, and creative celebrities—and associate members, who are former Webby winners, nominees and other internet professionals. The awards honor excellence in major media types including: Websites, Video, Advertising, Media & PR, Social, Apps, Mobile & Voice, Games, and Podcasts.

Sesh and Carbon Five partnered to design and develop the Sesh Android and iOS mobile app. The Sesh app is a mobile mental healthcare tool that connects users with peers and licensed therapists for video-enabled group support sessions. Each “Sesh” is a 60-minute virtual group support session with up to 14 participants and a therapist facilitator. Topics include but are not limited to stress management, relationship support, pregnancy and postpartum support, coping with depression, addressing anxiety, and establishing healthy habits.

Over the course of 10 weeks, Sesh co-founders Vittoria Bergeron and Alyssa Musket worked with Carbon Five’s team of designers and developers to create an accessible, affordable, high-quality mobile mental healthcare solution. The design and development of the Sesh native mobile app was created with an emphasis on performance, security, and an engaging user experience.

Sesh mobile app features include:

• Security and privacy focused backend architecture and booking system 
• Focus on user experience of reserving and attending video-enabled group sessions
• Translation of Sesh Therapy brand and design into a mobile app experience
• Implementation of turn-key solutions including Airtable, Stripe, Zoom, and Firebase
• Sesh app on Android and iOS
